One of the best sea side resorts in the Country and most sought after. It is stretched across 23 acres on the island. It has a welcome area in the mainland where guests are picked up by boats to reach the spot. It has such a serene beauty and lots of activities for leisure. If the sea is soft and idle they let you ferried to the nearby beautiful beach. However, it is not allowed during rough weather. It is highly recommended to choose the floating or premium for best experience, but avoid floating during rainy season. People are nice but bit concerned about the customer experience that is primarily due to understaff I guess. Food is excellent , definitely don't miss the sunset bar. Ayurveda Village is damn beautiful, generally it used to be packed with foreigners definitely try that. ~ Kalai M
Poovar Island Resort is a beautiful and serene property located in Trivandrum, Kerala. The resort is situated on a small island surrounded by the backwaters and the Arabian Sea, offering stunning views and a peaceful atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, with all the modern amenities one would expect from a luxury resort. The resort also has a variety of dining options, including a seafood restaurant that serves delicious fresh catches of the day. The staff is friendly and attentive, always ready to assist with any request. The resort also offers a range of activities, including boat rides, fishing, and Ayurvedic treatments at their spa. Overall, Poovar Island Resort is an excellent choice for those seeking a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway in beautiful surroundings. ~ Amresh M
Resort is awesome. You will have new experience. You have to park your vehicle at their parking area and they will pick up you in boat and will bring you to resort with 10 minutes journey. They will welcome you with tilak and sea assets mala. Rooms are very nice and food is awesome... So lovey. They will drop you at Golden sand resort at free of cost and have plan avaioabe for Rs. 1800 for 1 hour trip to ayyapa river. Their Ayurveda village is also nice. They have different plan and packages for massages for few hours and days. Overall, must visit resort if you are in poovar. Nearby this resort, there is club Mahindra resort and sarovar portico resort and some other resort but Poovar island resort is Jannat. Must visit place before you die. ~ Sanket M
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had a truly wonderful experience at Poovar Island Resort. The location is absolutely breathtaking with the serene backwaters, golden beach, and lush greenery all around. The resort is beautifully maintained and gives a perfect blend of nature and comfort. The staff were very warm, polite, and always ready to help, which made our stay even more special. The boat ride to the resort itself was such a unique and memorable experience. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well designed for a relaxing holiday. The food was delicious with a good variety, and the overall ambiance made it a perfect getaway to unwind and connect with nature. Highly recommend Poovar Island Resort for anyone looking for peace, natural beauty, and excellent hospitality. 🌴✨ ~ sudhindra p
Beautiful property. One has to take a boat ride to reach this place. There are 2 kinds of accommodation - floating rooms and land dwelling. The land dwelling is like any other good resort. But the floating rooms are a different experience altogether- swaying with the ebb of the tide. Bang opposite is a sandbar beyond which the rolling sea lies. The people are very polite and helpful. Everyone has a smile on their face. The food here is well prepared - one can also customize as per taste. There is a good sized pool with a zorb available. Plenty of pool chairs too. There was a board for kids play park but I haven't gone that side. There is a beautiful lawn with hammocks - good option for a quite afternoon siesta. Overall the place is pretty good for a relaxed stay or a day picnic even. ~ Satish S
(This is not a 5⭐ review) The Onam function at our company, held right here, was a rather contradictory experience. While we had eagerly anticipated a fantastic celebration, the Onam sadya left much to be desired. The order in which the dishes were served was chaotic, making it challenging to savor the meal properly. Furthermore, it was disappointing to observe that not everyone received every food item. This inconsistency in serving the traditional dishes detracted significantly from the overall enjoyment of the event. To compound matters, the water provided tasted exceptionally bad, further adding to our disappointment. It's unfortunate that such an important occasion didn't meet our expectations, particularly in terms of the culinary experience and even something as basic as the water quality. ~ unniappam J

We stayed at Poor Island Resort for two nights and had a very good overall experience. The property itself is beautiful and well-located on the island. Service was very prompt throughout our stay, and the rooms and common areas were neat and clean. Breakfast was very good with a wide variety of options, and the service staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Considering the price, the service and overall experience were definitely value for money. The only suggestion I would like to make is regarding the furniture, which feels quite old and could be replaced to maintain the luxury feel of such a nice property. Overall, we had a very good experience at Poor Island Resort and would recommend it to everyone ~ mehul r
Beautiful, peaceful and relaxing environment of Poovar island…great experience to visit this place….Poovar is a tourist town in Neyyattinkara (tehsil) in the Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala state, South India….. This village is almost at the southern tip of Thiruvananthapuram while the next village, Pozhiyoor, marks the end of Kerala…... This village beach attracts tourists throughout the year……Poovar was a trading centre of timber, sandalwood, ivory and spices…. The village was one of the ancient Muslim settlements along the western coast of India….. The central mosque in Poovar was built by Malik Deenar, an eighth century Muslim preacher…. During the reign of the Chola dynasty, Poovar was a major port…. ~ Nirav C
We reached the quay by car. There were adequate car parking facilities. We were received by the staff who arranged for the boat-ride to the resort. The boat ride was enjoyable. After reaching the landing stage, we were escorted to the lobby of the hotel where we were welcomed. The rooms are clean and well maintained. However, toiletries and towels had to be asked for..... There were a lot of activities for all age groups..... indoor as well as outdoors (swimming, archery, shooting, fishing, cycling, etc.). Smaller children liked to feed and pet the rabbits! Boat rides are free and can be arranged. The only issue was the food...... sadly lacking in nonvegetarian items. Overall it was a good stay. ~ A R
Excellent resort, away from all kinds of hustle and bustle. The outdoors are better than the rooms here. The sprawling property is extremely well maintained, and has various kinds of play areas, swings, and endless walkways. One thing I thought that sets this place apart is: they have a separate entertainment zone with books in different languages, carroms, table tennis, and so many indoor games. One con (if you could call it that) is that this resort can be accessed only by boat. We have to leave our cars at the designated point and travel by boat. Which also means that we have to depend on the resort for every piece of eatable you need. It would be a good idea to carry some snacks if you are traveling with kids. Food is decent, they take a long time to prepare. So better you order an hour before you intend to eat. ~ Leeba V
The resort is a very good one at a very beautiful location. They provide enough parking and you must travel in a boat through a beautiful river and estuary side to reach the entrance. The resort as such is spacious and very good facilities available. The staff were very good . The swimming pool, rooms, kids play area, restaurants etc were all neat and tidy. Two things to take care are 1. The room service menu provides very less items than their restaurant menu(at a higher price).if you need more options,go to restaurant, order, and take to your room 2. They offer free boat riders to beach. Due to harsh sun, people will be leaving to beach after 4pm.The last boat to beach departs at 5.30pm and comes back at 6pm(almost a round time). So in order to escape from the rush time and to spend more time at beach,go in early trips ~ Narayanaswamy R
It's a paradise. If only it was possible to jump into the sea straight from the floating hut's terrace it would be perfect. Great south Indian food and nice, mostly competent staff. The taxi/shuttle will be more expensive than one you can pick up yourself, but you know the price up front and if your flight has 2h delay, the driver will be at the arrivals with a page saying your name. Souvenirs are also not cheapest, but some price negotiation is ok, and the choice (clothing, shawls, jewellery, spices, post cards+stamps, trinkets...) is really great for such a small shop. Personal recommendation: wake for the 7am free yoga session. It's a wonderful experience and totally ok for beginners (instructions in easy English). ~ Ewa G

Had a fantastic experience at Poovar Island Resort! The location is absolutely stunning, with breathtaking views of the backwaters, golden sand beach, and lush greenery all around. Gods own country…!! This island is a land of peace and great hospitality..!! This is the best hotel you get with the great views at Poovar…!! If you take a floating villa you could here the roar of ocean waves…!! The view from the floating villa is too good you could see people people doing fishing sitting at the balcony…!! For couples it’s the best place you can chill out as u chill out in Goa..!! You can choose a boat trip from hotel which is priced high a bit but worth the views…!! Food is a over priced and only order fresh fruit juices don’t go with milkshakes since I had a bad experience with one..!! The breakfast buffet is too good you get a lot of variety to choose and eat..!! Over all an excellent vacation a great choice I did…!! ~ CS M
Wow place to visit. Small passage for the boat to move in between mangrove is very good and is one of a kind. Variety of birds can be seen such as kingfishers, cranes, crow etc. If you are visiting then do maintain the time as one has to return from poovar before 7 pm. Many veg and non veg floating restaurant are available and the rates are moderately good. Sunset is very eye-catching. One can see golden sand. when opting for boat ride do bargain with the boat owner , it is best if you hire a boat with the help of hotel where you are residing as they do have network and can help you to get the best price. If you want to buy liquor then ask to the boat driver , he will provide you from the registered restaurant with some additional cost. ~ Ankit K

We stayed here from 28th July to 29th July and had a truly wonderful experience. The resort is well-maintained with a peaceful and relaxing ambiance. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and neatly arranged. The surroundings are scenic, perfect for a refreshing getaway. The staff were very polite, helpful, and attentive, making us feel welcomed throughout our stay. The food was fresh and tasty, adding to the overall great experience. The Ayurvedic full body massage (extra cost applicable) was truly awesome and left us feeling completely relaxed. The resort also offers many other interesting paid activities, making the stay even more enjoyable. However, be aware of small wild animals like palm civets and insects inside the compound at night. Highly recommended for families, couples, and anyone looking for a relaxing break. ~ Vimal D
One of the best resort I’ve ever stayed The ambiance is very calm and green and filled with positive energy The hospitality is truly amazing and the care taken from security in car parking to boat jetty security is highly appreciated.. The front office staffs are very friendly and were happy to answer all our doubts. Special thanks to front office staff Ms Lakshmi and Mr Rex who guided very smoothly during our check in.. The room is spacious enough with good outdoor pool in front garden with a traditional bathroom looking at sky(but secure) The restaurant is simple with decent food choices. The restaurant staffs are helpful in our choice selection and carrying our requests.. I would give 5+ for this resort..looking to come back again sooner ~ Rufus R
A very nice place to spend time with your loved ones... A quiet and scenic place... Lots of activities for all in and around the resort... An awesome place to get away from all your worries and tensions and spend quality time with your family and friends.... The rooms are clean and well maintained. You can also enjoy ayurveda spa at affordable price.. They have different packages to choose from.. The hospitality was very good... No words would be enough to describe the quality and variety of food offered by them... The service offered by them even on short notice was really appreciated... We never encountered a 'NO' from anyone or for anything we asked for.. ~ Jinesh N
This resort was one of the best places that we visited in Kerala. This is a remote place with lush greenery, coconut and betel nut trees and other plants. This resort has multiple photogenic selfie spots and the hotel has made sure to mark them clearly. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet and also provide room service. People can enjoy activities arranged by the hotel staff or can just take a long stroll around the hotel property. This is an island and requires a boat/launch to reach from land. They have 2 welcome areas, one operative till 5:30 pm and other, afterwards. Last but not least, the hotel staff is quite courteous and helpful. ~ Chirag K
The resort is maintained very well and has luscious green grass and trees everywhere which are organised to make it appealing. It also has some fun activities for kids. The food is overall excellent due to the variety of dishes they provide. If you don't like some food you can just try another dish. They service in the restaurant was also very good, with staff always ready to help. They swimming pool is very nice and has a nice ambience to it at night time. They rooms are also decent and beds are very comfy. The boat ride system is a bit tedious but at least you get to enjoy the scenery in the morning as the boat driver slows down to show you various birds. ~ Devansh P
